What loneliness this darkness brings,
No sounds abound, just silence sings.
In the light of deep black and grey,
An unnoticed breeze weaves its way
Through tired trees and dried-up dew,
To tell you that I think of you,
Of what we live and what we share,
Of twilight walks and moonlit air,
Of bright stars perched on our sky’s wings,
What memories this darkness brings!
All this while sweet time flies by,
The song of silence brims with joy
And loneliness takes on the hue
Of quiet bliss I find with you.
I marvel at life’s simple things,
What light to me this darkness brings!
